JEF HILLTambun · Perak

The whole hill. The whole house. The whole weekend.

One booking at a time. Nobody else. Ever.

The promise

One booking.
One experience.

Jef Hill is never shared. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, the estate belongs to your group alone — the pool, the waterfall, the kitchen, the fire, the hills, the hosts.

No other family at breakfast. No stranger in the pool. No wedding finishing in the next hall. No one to be quiet for.

Just the people you chose to bring.

The estate

Seven bedrooms. Nine bathrooms. One gate.

Two penthouse suites on the upper floor, four rooms and a family room on the ground — so grandparents don’t climb stairs and the children are never far.

Comfortable for 23. Up to 30, with extra beds at no charge.

Nine bathrooms, which is the number that decides whether twenty-four people can get ready for dinner without a queue. It is not a romantic fact. It is the one that matters.

Dawn to fire

A day at Jef Hill

06:40

The hill is still wearing last night's cloud

You're first up. The pool hasn't been touched. Down in the valley the mist is sitting in the hollows and the limestone hills are coming out of it one at a time. There is coffee. There is nobody to talk to yet. This is the hour people don't expect and then never forget.

09:15

Everyone finds the kitchen

Breakfast happens the way it happens in a house, not a hotel — in shifts, in pyjamas, in the middle of an argument about whose turn it is to make the second pot. Someone is already in the pool.

12:00

The water

The pool runs three feet to nine. The children stay at one end. Everyone else drifts. Somebody has started the mahjong table and it will not stop for six hours.

15:30

The falls

There is a waterfall on this land. Not nearby — on it. You walk down to it in the late afternoon when the light comes through the trees sideways, and it is the coldest, cleanest thing you will feel all week.

18:20

The hills go blue

Then violet. Then gone. It takes about eleven minutes and every single person stops what they are doing to watch it, every single time.

19:45

Smoke

The grill has been going since five. Your brother-in-law took over the smoker at three and has not been seen since; he will emerge shortly, a changed man, with something extraordinary.

21:30

The song room

It starts, as it always does, with someone insisting they will not. By eleven your aunt is doing Teresa Teng and your father is attempting harmonies he has never once managed sober.

23:00

The circle

The fire is the last thing. The children have gone. The talking gets slower and better and more honest. Somebody says the thing they have been meaning to say for two years. This is what you actually came for, and none of the brochures know how to sell it.

About Jef Hill Reserve

Discretion

Discretion, as a matter of course

This house sits on land with a long history, and over the years it has quietly welcomed a great many distinguished guests — leaders, families, people whose privacy is the condition of their arrival.

We don’t publish their names. We never will. That isn’t a marketing decision; it’s the reason they came in the first place, and it applies exactly the same way to you.

Whatever happens here stays on the hill.

Voices

What people say afterwards

I've organised this family reunion four times. This is the first one where I actually got to enjoy it.
[GUEST NAME]Family gathering · 24 guests
We looked at six hotels. None of them could give us the whole place. That turned out to be the only thing that mattered.
[GUEST NAME]Wedding · 80 guests
Our team talked more honestly in one evening around that fire than in two years of meetings.

The valley

Two hours from the city.
A world from it.

Jef Hill sits above Tambun in the Kinta Valley, five minutes from the Lost World of Tambun, surrounded by the limestone hills that make this part of Perak look like nowhere else in Malaysia.

Close enough that your guests from Kuala Lumpur will arrive in time for lunch. Far enough that by the second morning nobody is checking their phone.

Parking for around 30 vehicles, which is the sort of detail you only appreciate when twenty-four people arrive in eleven cars.

The invitation

Tell us what you're planning

Not which dates. Not how many nights. Start with the occasion — the birthday, the wedding, the reunion, the retreat — and we'll take it from there.

We reply personally, usually within the hour.
